Thank you for visiting our website. We are a non-profit
organization of women in Cincinnati, Ohio dedicated to collaborating with,
raising awareness of, and providing funding and volunteer services for various local
women's organizations and issues. We began this initiative during 2005.
We connect with identified and deserving established and/or
fledgling charitable organizations that are assisting women in a variety of
ways. Such charitable organizations may include, but are not limited to
those that provide:
-
housing and social services for abused, addicted, or
mentally ill women and their children;
-
social, educational, and vocational services for women
who have not completed a high school education;
-
other services for underprivileged, disenfranchised, or
uneducated women.
Xtraordinary Women will make contributions on a time-limited
basis of services and/or money to help assist such charitable organizations in
accomplishing their charitable purposes. To learn more about our

Why Xtraordinary??
The word extraordinary is defined as "beyond what is usual, regular,
ordinary or customary" and "highly exceptional to a very marked extent;
remarkable". Members of Xtraordinary Women seek to help the women
described above realize and achieve their life's potential and thus that they
are, in fact, extraordinary.
Who are these Xtraordinary Women??
-
a league of women who have formed a "giving circle"
(defined below), where
each member makes a minimum contribution for stewardship of the organization
as it pursues its mission ($50/year);
-
a group that has F.U.N. --- Friends Understanding
Needs;
-
an IRS 501(c)(3) organization

What
is a Giving Circle??
A Giving Circle, as defined by the Forum of
Regional Associations of Grant Makers, is a pooled fund that makes grants and is
managed by the funds' donors. Giving circles pool time, talent and
resources between people who share a common interest in a social cause or issue,
and allow for a wide range in charitable styles, philosophies and politics,
structure, size, and focus through a very hands-on approach.
